Since 1779 the brandy Nardnini is being brewed and bottled in Bassano del Grappa. In 2004 Grapperia Nardini decided to raise a glass and steel memorial to their 225 years of company history.
Already in the year 2000 the world famous architect Massimiliano Fuksas was put in charge of planning this exceptional construction. His vision was the reconciliation of two "worlds": the first, "floating" world consists of two transparent, ellipsoid bubbles, which house the laboratories of the Research Centre. The second half, the world "in the womb of the earth" has been sunken into the soil, giving the room the form of a natural canyon, which contains an auditorium with 100 seats. The auditorium is reached via a descending ramp - the matrix creating the canyon area, which doubles as open air stage.

The two opposing rows of stalls, arranged in a slanting angle, create a single, continuous arena for performances and events. The audience is seated amid a landscape sculpted by the irregular progression of the tilted walls.

The realisation of this ambitious project was entrusted to Union Glass. Specialising in innovative glazing they were well equipped to meet the challenge. Lisec Software has been in use both in production planning and production control.
The wide variety of shapes necessary for this building recommended the use of TSO. Perfect shape optimisation allowed Union Glass enormous waste savings for this project.
